Design concept: The brief was for a large bad-ass black stone in a  traditional styled bolo tie. 

Pendant technique: If its going to be black and bad-ass Onyx is the only way to go. This oval stone was hand picked. The base was fabricated using sterling silver sheet that was then hammered for texture and edges shaped with a round file. Two bridges were made to hold the silver and 24kt gold triangles that were fused on using the Keum Boo and sweat soldering method. These bridges were then soldered onto the piece by creating posts that went through matching holes on the base plate. Oxidised to give it character.
